The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing issues licenses to applicants who have graduated from a board-approved program, have passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and comply with guidelines for good moral character. The state is not a member of the Nurse Licensure Compact and does not issue temporary licenses. It does offer an application by reciprocity for those licensed in another state.
